   ABOUT BORDERPAWS

Borderpaws is run by Heather Noddle.

Heather has over 30 year's teaching experience in secondary and independent International schools, educational outreach programmes and is currently a Depute Chief Exam Invigilator for the SQA (BSc Hons, PGCE)

Heather is also an Agility Club Accredited Instructor (ACAI, 1994) an Agility Club Accredited Judge (Honours, 1997) a Kennel Club Acredited Judge (2004,) KC Agility Championship Judge (2005,) a KC Good Citizens Dog Scheme Examiner (2013) and a Canine Hoopers UK Accredited Instructor (2018.)

She is a member of PVG Scheme Disclosure, Scotland.

Heather started agility in 1989. Since then she has amassed a wealth of experience in the sport and competed successfully across the country with a number of dogs including two at KC LG6, one at KC MG6 and two more at KC LG7 (Champ.) She has qualified for a variety of national individual, pairs and teams finals including three consecutive years at Crufts, and judged at a range of prestigious qualifiers and finals over the years.

Having lived with and trained a variety of breeds and cross-breeds, Heather now lives with three generations of Border Collies, three generations of Miniature American Shepherd Dogs and a Chihuahua. Most of these work in agility, or are youngsters in training or enjoying their retirement.

Agility training is available in group or 1-2-1 format, for every level of handler from absolute beginner through to Championship level.
Heather's 1-2-1 training has been a respected resource for handlers preparing for major finals and high-pressure events such as Olympia and Crufts, where her motivational, analytical and perfomance-tweaking coaching has proved hugely beneficial.

Nicole Hume

Nicole joined Borderpaws in 2010.  A Veterinary Nurse in her native Germany, she is also an enthusiastic, successful and intuitive dog trainer with experience of training a range of breeds and cross-breeds in both Obedience and Agility.  Nicole now competes successfully in Agility with her growing collection of beautiful Miniature American Shepherds, the oldest of which runs KC LG6.

Nicole constantly evaluates her training systems, researching new techniques and discussing current ideas. Her great passion involves the early training and socialisation of puppies and youngsters, with whom she has an instant rapport.

Her natural talent for reaching out to dogs of all ages and varieties is undoubtedly helped by her other talent for baking the tastiest home-made dog treats known to dog-kind!
